Lily loved colors more than anything. Not just the plain colors from her crayon box, but the secret, sparkly, wobbly kind of colors that whispered and giggled. So, one sunny afternoon, when she found a tiny, shimmering path she’d never seen before, she knew it was a special invitation.
The path, made of crushed gemstones, led her to a hidden archway, woven from rainbows and topped with a tiny, glowing sign that read: “Magical Colorful Scene 6.”
With a giggle of delight, Lily stepped through.
Oh, my goodness! Everything glowed! The ground beneath her feet wasn’t dirt, but bouncy, shimmering moss that shifted from lime green to fuchsia with every step. Trees had leaves of every color, not just green, and their branches swirled with ruby red, sapphire blue, and sunshine yellow.
Puffs of cotton candy clouds floated by, changing from pink to orange to purple. When Lily reached out, one drifted down and tickled her nose. It smelled like blueberries and tasted like sunshine and fizzy rainbow drops!
A river flowed with liquid light, gurgling with tiny whispers of every color. Lily dipped her fingers in, and they came out sparkling with little, friendly motes of light that danced around her fingertips.
Little creatures, like butterflies made of stained glass, fluttered past, giggling in hues of blue and gold. There were singing flowers whose petals glowed brighter as they hummed, and wobbly, jelly-bean hills that bounced you gently if you sat on them.
In the very middle of Scene 6, Lily found a huge, wobbly, rainbow mushroom. When she sat on it, it hummed a happy tune, and all the colors around her danced even faster, swirling into a friendly, colorful hug that made her feel warm and tingly from her head to her toes.
As the sun began to dip, casting long, purple shadows, Lily knew it was time to go. She waved goodbye to the giggling colors and sparkling creatures, walking back through the shimmering archway.
The little path was gone, as if it had never been there. But the colors… oh, the colors stayed with her. Every time she closed her eyes, she could still see the bouncy moss, taste the rainbow clouds, and feel the friendly hug of colors from Magical Colorful Scene 6, deep in her happy, colorful heart.
